EXHIBITIONS AND TRADE SHOWS

Always…

  • plan team tasks and targets BEFORE the event. There’s no second chance.
  • attend a similar event before planning your own. Get a feel for what to expect.
  • keep a tight rein on costs, they can quickly spiral out of control.
  • generate interest and communicate with prospects old and new – pre-event.
  • agree meetings, qualify leads and follow-up prospects quickly after the event.

Never…

  • overlook alternatives – e.g. sponsor a private networking dinner or CPD event.
  • say no to providing a public comment or a show seminar – be seen as an expert.
  • ignore first impressions – check your stand and what’s on it, including people.
  • leave the stand unattended or indulge in blow-out meals, spicy food or alcohol.
  • overlook buying and refurbishing used exhibition equipment to save money.
